ETS Nordi office windows were fitted with solar control films because the large glass facade allowed too much heat into the rooms on sunny days, causing temperatures to rise uncomfortably high. Lighter and darker films were chosen for different sides of the building, corresponding to the number of sunshine hours.
The glass facade with large windows of the ETS Nordi office building is visually striking, but over time it became apparent that the large glass surfaces also let in a lot of heat into the offices. On sunny days, indoor temperatures rose unpleasantly high, affecting employees' well-being and comfort in the space.
As a solution, sun protection films were installed on the windows to limit the heat entering the rooms and maintain a more uniform indoor climate. Since the duration of sunshine varied between the sides of the building, a lighter sun protection film was chosen for one side and a darker one for the other, according to the number of sunshine hours. The work was commissioned by ETS Nord AS.
